The title of this blog post is inaccurate.
In just a few days we will be half way through 2014. With the longest day of summer already gone, now seems a good time to check out what have been Naked Eye Travel’s most popular posts of the year so far.

What better time to try to conquer Stirling Castle than on a wet and blustery day. Set atop Castle Hill and surrounded by steep cliffs on three sides, this is one of Scotland’s strongest fortifications.
Braveheart. The Scots love it. Even though historically it’s nonsense, containing more inaccuracies than a Tabloid newspaper on heat.
They may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom! So said William Wallace… or at least so said Mel Gibson. But if you want a real taste of Scotland’s Braveheart, there is no better place to go than The National Wallace Monument.
