A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to visit the wonderful city of Munich to enjoy the delights of Oktoberfest for the third time.
Down the middle of a small side street in the centre of Munich runs a small trail of gold.
The vast array of photographs of automobiles I’m about to post might convince you otherwise, but I’ve never been a great fan of the car.
What better way to clear the fog of a night at Oktoberfest than by taking a stroll round the centre of Munich?
Millions of revellers sporting fancy dress consuming over-sized glasses – and I mean glass not plastic – of strong beer and dancing on wooden benches.
What better to soak up the alcohol on a ‘wet’ weekend away than some traditional German food.
It dates back to around 1200, its exterior is seven feet of gilded silver and jewels and it is adorned by images of Old Testament prophets and the 12 apostles.
So I have made it safely home after my visit to Germany’s fourth biggest city.
