Japan – Welcome to the (Tokyo) jungle

More than 13 million people.
That was the estimate for the population of Tokyo in January of this year.
So it’s safe to say this is one buzzing, bustling city.
It is also super modern, electronically obsessed and blessed with its fair share of the bizarre.

One minute you’ll be enjoying humming shopping districts, the next crossing frighteningly busy road junctions and the next, well, quite possibly in Condomania.
The latter is a tiny corner shop promoting all things condom related. I did say bizarre, right?
Tokyo is also one of the three ‘command centres for the world economy – along with New York City and London – home to a super smart subway system and packed with enough lights at night to keep any party going.
It could take decades to explore it all. Mami and I have five days – wish us luck.
Here’s a few pictures from day one to give you just a taste of Tokyo.

One Comment to Japan – Welcome to the (Tokyo) jungle

Wonderful shots of an incredible city…..we watch a great deal of International TV here and the Japanese station is our favorite – can’t wait to see your shots of Kyoto too. Would love to go to Japan one day but in the meantime it’s lovely to see it through YOUR eyes Michelle as you and Mamie explore!

    Hugs, Pam
